The rio in suspension is a ring ceiling light with a large solid brass ring embedded with led lights on the inside only. This ring of light is then suspended by near-invisible brass wires from a smaller ring. The result is a lighting object that appears to hover effortlessly in mid-air, casting sculptural shadows onto the ceiling.
The rio collection is based on the mesmeric properties of a nimbus – the white rings that appear around the moon when light refracts through ice crystals in the atmosphere.
